Besides being the most important international wind energy trade fair, HUSUM WindEnergy has also been the most important meeting place for the industry’s actors, movers and shakers for a good 20 years. Every two years HUSUM WindEnergy, as both shop window and market place, provides the best environment for making new business contacts and consolidating existing contacts.

Over 950 exhibitors (Exhibitors staff 8,000) from over 35 nations HUSUN WindEnergy 2010, from the following areas: wind turbine manufacturers, wind turbine component suppliers, operators, financial services, planning offices, media and event organisers, power networks, societies and associations, offshore, research and education. Also 33,000 visitors from 70 nations.

Wind energy is widely seen as a successful industry with excellent prospects. And the growth of the industry’s leading trade fair has been just as dynamic as the development of the industry as a whole: HUSUM WindEnergy is the shop window of the global wind energy industry, and the meeting place for the industry’s actors, movers and shakers – with a continuously increasing number of exhibitors and visitors and the Windcareer job fair, it is also of growing importance for the labour market.

The first “Husum Wind Energy Days” took place in a livestock auction hall in 1989, back when hardly anyone anywhere in the world was taking wind energy seriously as an economic factor.

It soon became obvious that this town on the windy North Sea had the potential to become a leading exhibition centre, and not just for the wind industry. A new exhibition hall was completed in 1997, and its infrastructure was constantly improved over the following years.
